A question and a picture. An island in Maine - from memory

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. You are all so generous! You'll know soon enough that my computer skills could be better. I don't know how to get the comments to post onto yahoo. Is that important?

I haven't started the everyday challenges yet. Gosh - I haven't even started my Sketchbook Project yet! The theme is: things you might find in a napkin. Anyone care to offer some ideas?

Also, this is a little island in Maine that dot the coastline. I didn't get up there this year, but hopefully next year. I miss the wonderful salt marshes, the salty sea air and the amazing fragrance of the fir trees that waft around you as you sit or walk. I've never painted in watercolors before but love the medium. I'm probably going about it all wrong but I am having a good time! :)

Hello Everyone!

Hello Everyone,
I've been watching your posts with admiration combined with the fear of revealing my art skills (or lack thereof) :).
This is such a welcoming and gentle community, I finally decided to jump in and just start with beginner's mind. Just starting and practicing while having some fun!

I found this group while I was searching for a group that wanted to exercise their creativity as much as possible. My own creativity percolates in the form of ideas.
I use them every day in my work and sometimes play - like improv. I was yearning to find other ways to express it in other parts of my life. So, here goes!

My first post is a picture of the Big Shoes that you could never buy in a store but might want. I try to wear mine everyday - they are metaphorical shoes, of course.
Take a look and feel free to comment. I did this in a journal a friend brought back from Bhutan - it is all handmade paper which didn't really lend itself to the best surface, but you'll get some sense of what I'm about through this.
